100% Design announces theme of Elements

100% Design, the largest design trade show in the UK and the commercial cornerstone of London Design Festival, has announced a programme of specially commissioned installations at Olympia London all falling under the theme of ‘Elements’. Designs across the show  include an immersive entrance feature curated by design writer Max Fraser to a pivotal central bar designed by Sally Hogarth and additional  surprising features across the five distinct show sections.

John Makepeace and Parnham College

September 2017 is a momentous time for John Makepeace, marking 40 years since he founded Parnham College – the institution that inspired a generation of designers and furniture makers, influencing the world of contemporary design. Parnham College  was ahead of the game, encouraging students  to learn practical skills and processes among designers across all disciplines. Rado Star Prize UK announce shortlist

Young designers from across the UK submitted a range of forward-thinking projects from the interior, industrial and technology design mediums for the inaugural edition of the Rado Star Prize UK last week. The judging was presided over by a stellar panel including industrial designer Konstantin Grcic; design journalist Corinne Julius; Vice President of Product Management at Rado Hakim El Kadiri; design journalist Katrina Burroughs and designjunction Event Director Will Sorrell.

The Scottish creators of pattern Timorous Beasties have unveiled “The Shed”; a trade showroom located a stone’s throw from their HQ in Glasgow. The showroom has been converted from a plain industrial unit into an awe-inspiring gallery of Victorian proportions and will be open by appointment only for architects, specifiers, interior designers and other industry insiders, which suits the brand as well as being just stunning to sniff around.
