Spoon sink is the beautiful creation of Philip Watts Design

spoon sink
Spoon sink is the beautiful creation of Philip Watts Design’s in house team and will be exclusively launched at 100% Design at Stand(H41)

The company created the stunning Spoon urinal in 2005; it won immediate acclaim, winning an FX design award. It has taken a while but the flowing lines of the sister product are even more graceful than that of its sibling. The basin, like the urinal, is made from a resin composite and is 100% UK manufactured. It can be used with a mono- block tap as pictured of with a wall mounted spout. Currently the only stockist are Philip Watts Design. Also on show will be the company’s other products, which include the outrageous glowing urinal as well as their more famous porthole and handle ranges.

Thomas Heatherwick at Haunch Of Venison until 7th November by Tom Wright

Heatherwick’s children were allowed onto the gleaming benches in the Senate Room at Haunch of Venison. They had climbed there, past knitted legs of chattering adults, onto high podiums and around gnarled edges. They jumped from platforms to awaiting arms, clasping tightly to parents’ necks as mingling progressed. I was jealous. A little bit about the hugging but mainly about the sitting. I wanted to perch on the rippled, metal furniture; relax, recline, touch and enjoy a wholly new type of seat. Sadly, they are on podiums. Bathed in intelligent lighting. A tease.

Armourcoat Group Celebrate 25th Year

New Armourcoat Group at 100% Design

The Armourcoat Group will be represented at 100% Design this September. The company, which celebrates its 25th anniversary, consists of four distinct business divisions. Armourcoat has grown significantly in recent years and diversified to offer a far broader range of decorative products. Whilst the core business of polished plaster remains the company’s central focus, the new Sculptural, ArmourCast and ArmourColor divisions have created tremendous interest from architectural and interior design communities.
The Armourcoat stand (A40) will provide a dramatic backdrop for the full range of decorative products across the Group:
Armourcoat Sculptural® the company’s most recent and remarkable success story has already won accolades from the architectural world. With its dramatic, sculptural, seamless wall designs, Sculptural® gives identity and character to any interior. In addition to the existing twelve designs, Armourcoat will introduce four new designs at this year’s show.
The enduring elegance and beauty of Polished Plaster will be represented by a mixture of standard and custom finishes. They will showcase the infinite design possibilities this timeless material has to offer.
The ArmourCast® stone finish casting products represent stunning textures and effects with the look and feel of real stone. The panels offer a modular solution for commercial, retail and hospitality clients.
With ArmourColor® the company’s objective for a full range of finishes has been met. ArmourColor has been designed to not only look and feel gorgeous, but also to be hard-wearing, hygienic and cost effective.
Guy Whitehead, Armourcoat Group CEO commented “In the last 25 years the company’s exhaustive programme of research and development has led to a broad spectrum of products. This clearly demonstrates the Group’s commitment to market-led innovation and quality design solutions.”
Expert advice will be available throughout the exhibition, at the Armourcoat (A40) stand.
