Stattman Neue Moebel Opens Online Shop

Siblings, Nicola and Oliver Stattmann, operate German manufacturing company, Stattman neue Moebel from their family workshop in Aschberg, Germany.

In collaboration with designers such as: Marina Bautier, Steffen Kehrle, Sylvain Willenz, and Florian Hauswirth, the debut collection for Stattman neue Moebel was released in spring 2012 and their furniture is now available through an online shop.

Sustainability is at the core of the company‚Äôs ethos and they only use timber from sustainable sources. It aims to create pieces that will last a lifetime. All pieces are crafted in Stattmans’ fourth generation family workshop in Ascheberg, Germany.

Stattman neue Moebel prefers to use details such as plug-in or dovetail joints rather than screws for their furniture. This subtly enhances the visual impact of the craftsmanship in the designs.

The careful detailing in the designs can be seen in the Frame Seat (above), by Florian Hauswirth, which is made of three interlocking frames that stabalise each other.

The Plug Shelf by designer (above and below), Steffen Kehrle for Stattman neue Moebel, uses a simple diagonal wooden dowel to connect the furniture elements together with no other fixings or glue required.
