What’s this fascination with rope?

On his first voyage, Gulliver is washed ashore after a shipwreck and awakes to find himself a prisoner of a race of people one-twelfth the size of normal human beings (6 inches/15 cm tall), who are inhabitants of the neighbouring and rival countries of Lilliput and Blefuscu.
This is where my fascination with rope really begun, I have never been able to forget that image of Gulliver imprisoned and wrapped in rope, also the difference in size of the inhabitants and Gulliver, it fascinated me.

‘A New Stone Age’ A Trunk Show with Jayce Wong from November 26th

Kabiri will showcase the new collection by jewellery designer Jayce Wong at their flagship Covent Garden store. The exhibition will take place 26th November – 3rd December.
This opulent fine jewellery collection uses gemstones that have a natural fluorescence, therefore glow under UV light. To showcase Jayce’s pioneering collection Kabiri will display it in a purpose built blackout room within their fine jewellery cellar.

15 Years of Philip Watts Design – A Retrospective Bonington Gallery, Nottingham November 19th

Exhibition Nov.16th – Dec. 6th
A range of inspired work by Philip Watts Design is to go on display at Bonington Gallery, Nottingham Trent University to celebrate 15 years of the creative interior design practice.
The exhibition sees the talented designer return to the university where he studied as a furniture and product design student.

Worlds First Vertical Fire from Modus Design

Modus Design, UK pioneers of the ‘ultimate contemporary fireplace’ launch the ‘Vertical Fire’. Made up of several small fires the flames merge together to become one flowing upward flame. Flickering from floor to ceiling the Vertical Fire creates a unique and mesmerising effect that is equally ideal in a residential property or a bar or restaurant.
