For the final event in the London _ Rome’s series of talks, Luca Galofaro, founding member of Ian+, will showcase the Italian practice’s work alongside Stephen Witherford from Witherford Watson Mann. They will discuss their respective professional outputs and contributions to the London_Rome exhibitions at the British School at Rome last year, in a conversation chaired by Pippo Ciorra , architect, critic, professor of design and theory at the University of Camerino, and co-curator of the inaugural exhibition at the Zaha Hadid designed MAXXI museum in Rome.

1. What made you want to become a designer in the first place?
I didn’t even know what a designer was until I was in my twenties. Luckily I was taking an Engineering degree at Imperial College in London which was right next door to the Royal College of Art – we used to go there for lunch and that’s how I found out about the world of design and decided I wanted to be a designer.
