Mash Creative has designed new pieces for their branded State of the Obvious® collection exclusively for the Design Museum.
The design of these products has been heavily influenced by the International Typographic Style from the 50’s and 60’s & shows an evolution from their original S/O/T/O collection. It has been designed to appeal to typography and design lovers alike.

The Brit Insurance Designs Awards, “the Oscars of the design world,” showcase the most innovative and forward thinking designs from around the world, spanning seven categories: architecture, fashion, furniture, graphics, interactive, product and transport. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Design Museum, four leading designers have been invited to design an original piece of artwork, each reproduced as high quality limited edition prints. Tord Boontje, Margaret Calvert, Konstantin Grcic and David Chipperfield have supplied artwork which will be sold exclusively in the Design Museum shop. Each commission will be available as an edition of 100, strictly limited and numbered, these prints are exclusive to the Design Museum.

For 40 years, from 1955 until 1995, Dieter Rams designed or oversaw the design of over 500 products for the German electronics manufacturer Braun, as well as furniture for Vitsoe. Audio equipment, calculators, shavers and shelving systems are just some of the products created by Dieter Rams, each item holds a special place in the history of industrial and furniture design and has established Dieter Rams as one of the most influential designers of the late 20th century.

Mariscal is renowned for his energetic and intuitive approach to design. Graphics, furniture, drawing, interiors and film are included in the rich repertoire of his creative work. “This exhibition represents the practice and also its ethos,” says Ria Hawthorn, Touring Programme Coordinator for the Design Museum, about its latest exhibition on architect David Chipperfield. “As we have had exhibitions covering Richard Rogers and Zaha Hadid, it seemed to be the time, when he is now having work built in the UK, to do the same for Chipperfield.”
