Awesomestow designers at Heals

It may be partly do do with the fact that we live in Walthamstow and love how creative and craft-led the area is, but we were particularly proud and impressed to hear that The Blackhorse Workshop has been selected to be part of this year’s Heal’s Modern Craft Market at the Tottenham Court Road store.

ByALEX loves you

Telling someone you appreciate them shouldn’t be left down to national holidays, birthdays and Christmas.  When the world is slowly becoming a darker place it’s the little things that matter and small surprises are what continues to drive kindness, joy and that little thing we like to call ‘the butterfly effect’. But maybe you think about it before you tell someone on the bus you love them. Just saying.

Have you been to Tate Edit?

One of our most favourite things here at Despoke are shops….in museums. Opened in November 2016, Tate Edit is the new retail space in Tate Modern’s Boiler House, giving visitors the chance to browse an ever-changing selection of products, limited editions, and favourite objects chosen by Tate staff and a rolling programme of invited ‘editors’.

New ranges from Thomas Crapper & Co.

There’s something special about a Thomas Crapper toilet. Maybe it’s the unusual handle at the top of the tank or the comfortable seats that really make you feel like you are sitting on a throne, but the brand seems to be appearing in more and more restaurants and institutions.

Crapper

The brand has launched several new suites, perhaps in recognition of the trend towards vintage as well as people investing in luxury goods in spaces like the bathroom and kitchen as they stay at home more.

Crapper

We particularly like the gold trim on this piece and the square element to the lid which would be a perfect place to rest your phone if you so wished (!)

The brand also produces sinks and baths in a traditional, vintage style that can be used in more modern rooms as above. Click here for more information.
