Let’s welcome in 2017 with the relaunch of a classic. Furniture comes and goes but collections like the Table Series are few and far between.

It may only be January, but that still means it’s only 4 months until our favourite of all of the design shows- Clerkenwell Design Week. Taking place from 23-25 May the show takes over, as its own branding tells us: prisons, churches and nightclubs (amongst other spaces of course.) Here are some of the brands we are most excited about seeing in unusual settings.
Masters of Invention, taking place from 24 March – 29 May at The Lettering Arts Centre, looks at cave painting to modern day street art and the evolution of graffiti, with new work from some of the most influential graffiti artists of the past 40 years, featuring Aroe, Delta, Bando, Mode2, Shok-1, Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman, Part2ism, Zaki Dee.
The V&A Trustees have appointed Dr Tristram Hunt as the new Director of the V&A.
Tristram has served as Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central since 2010, and was previously
the Shadow Secretary of State and Shadow Minister for Education.
Get yourself entered for the D&AD Next Awards. Entries are open until the 22 February 2017 and entry prices start from just £25. Submissions can be made directly on the D&AD website, there is no age limit for entrants and any genre of work can be submitted.
We love replacing in our bathrooms and making sure every product has its place. Leading UK based design brand, Tom Dixon have tapped into our bathroom obsession and are exploring the bathroom and the kitchen sink with a focus on functional storage, cleansing rituals, lotions and even waterproof lighting. And, as expected, it all looks blooming gorgeous. Hurrah!
Since opening to the public on the 24 November, the Design Museum in Kensington has welcomed over 100,000 visitors through its doors, having attracted between 200,000 and 250,000 visitors annually in its previous location in Shad Thames.
Collect is back for the 13th year in the Saatchi gallery from the 2-6th February.
During a run of five days, the Crafts Council presents a fantastic opportunity to see and buy contemporary museum-quality ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, metal and textiles from established and emerging artists and makers represented by over 30 of the world’s finest galleries. We are big fans of Yutu Segawawho we first saw at Design Junction and whose miniature ceramics are the most memorable and perfect pieces. We hope he will make an appearance with FLOW gallery.
