Transforming a Victorian townhouse in the heart of Soho, Graham & Brown have collaborated with leading interiors and architectural specialists SHH to create the experience. Inspired by the family run business that dates back to 1946, SHH worked together with Graham & Brown to reinterpret elements of the Blackburn based factory: its traditional design and making processes, the wallpaper archives and the modern design methods of today.

Through installations, demonstrations and visual creations, The House of Wallpaper will educate visitors on the history of wallpaper design, provide an insider’s look into the creative processes and showcase the latest innovations in wallpaper design and technology.

“Guests will enter the house in a flurry of colour through an installation created from large cylinders that are integral in the factory and define the wallpaper patterns. The decorative path continues to the heritage and design studio and onto a HoloLens immersive mixed reality factory tour onto a kaleidoscope cube gallery. On the third floor, an interactive space has been created where guests can change the wallpaper in the room at the touch of a button to trial various ‘papers’ on the walls”explains Brendan Heath of SHH.

The House of Wallpaper will open from Monday 18th September to Wednesday 4th October 2017 at 19 Greek Street, Soho.
