When we heard that Doshi Levien were presenting their new curtain collection for Kvadrat and that the breakfast would have food served by none other than our fave culinary tricksters Blanch and Shock we got very excited.
When the sketches are as stunning and colourful as this, you know the final product is going to be beautiful. For LDF the Indian/British design duo have created Pilotis, a naïve futuristic and architecturally formed installation for their London showroom working with textured, smooth and perforated textiles.
Taking their cue from architectural textures, pointillism and le Corbusier tapestries, the four new textiles have a gently futuristic twist. Rocket and Fiction are knitted curtains with a high-tech, engineered look in a soft colour palette, while the jacquard woven Utopia has a distinctly architectural feel and the refined, luminous twill curtain Lake is slightly iridescent, acting as a calm backdrop.
Head down to the North London showroom to experience the installation and see the collaboration in action. Doshi Levien: 10 Shepherdess Walk, London N1 7LB
