Farmyard Furniture

Furniture inspired by packing crates isn’t a first for designers, but the whimsical animal-crate association by Italian Furniture Brand, Seletti must be a first. Sending Animals was designed by Marcantonio Raimondi Malbera and are made using same methods used to manufacture real shipping crates.

In a world where commodities are constantly shipped or transported from one place to another, this collection is designed to remind us of the absurdity of the idea of shipping actual animals.

Whether or not this collection makes you think of our relationship with nature, the fun cow design would make for a good sideboard, and pig and duck designs and would make a fun cabinet and bedside table.

The sections of the furniture remind Despoke of the diagrams you see showing different cuts of meat, but the raw outline brings us back to our childhood playing with Farmyard-and-Friends puzzles.
