Italian designer Claudio Bellini has developed an elegant, solid wood table series for Thonet, which was introduced at the Milan furniture fair 2010.
The 1580 series is characterised by a lightweight, elegant appearance, thanks to the softly curved edges of the tabletops, which are set flush to the frame. The delicate, slightly convex legs lend these contemporary tables a unique look.

“For Thonet, I wanted to create a product that radiates naturalness based on its simple forms – which is not least achieved through the use of solid wood”, says Claudio Bellini. “I believe in a very pure, natural design language and have therefore tried to implement this in this design.”
The tabletops are available in four different sizes. Frames and tabletops come in beech (natural or stained), oak (bleached or stained black) and walnut; the tabletop is also available in Corian. The different tabletops and frames can be combined as desired, and allow for a wide range of uses at home or in the contract sector. The tables are also offered in different-sized, low-height versions. A matching chair series is currently being developed.
